After nearly 1000 applications, over 400 design submissions and four months of preparations – we’re so excited to finally reveal the first wave of artists for Pride of Yorkshire.

We’re so proud to have a line-up packed with recognisable names from across South Yorkshire, new talent and artists from all over the country, as they join us to raise money in a region-wide roar. Their designs are a reflection of local heritage, spectacular scenery and greenery, iconic locations, famous faces and more, and we can’t wait to see them out in the wild when the trail goes live across Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster next summer.

Pete McKee, Patron of Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity and beloved artist known for his nostalgic depictions of everyday life with humour and warmth, leads the line-up.

One of the artists creating a spectacular sculpture for the trail is Megan Russell AKA Peachzz, who is best known for her ‘Reverie’ mural in Sheffield City Centre, which was nominated for “best mural in the world” in Street Art Cities’ best of 2024 awards. On being part of the trail, she said: “I love being part of exciting projects like this, especially when they support charitable causes. This project also gives me the chance to create something unusual and fun.

“For me, it’s about bringing energy and purpose to the artwork while making a positive difference.”

Painting in Progress

Visitors to Moor Walk on The Moor in Sheffield City Centre will be able to see the trail come to life before their eyes at our painting space. Artists are working from now until the end of March 2026 to make their designs a reality, and create unique works of art!

The Pride of Yorkshire painting space is viewable Monday – Friday from 10am – 4pm. For more information, read our blog post.

Key dates for Pride of Yorkshire

October 2025 – March 2026 | Artists at work: From now until March 2026, artists will be working on their sculptures either in their own studios or in our painting space. After this point, our Sponsors will have the chance to select their designs ahead of the trail going live in June.

June 2026 – September 2026 | Pride of Yorkshire goes live: All 300 Pride of Yorkshire sculptures will go on display across Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield… can you find them all?

September/October 2026 | Farewell event: After some (much needed) spa treatments, the sculptures will be viewable all together for a final time at a Farewell Event.

October 2026 | Auction: Eager art collectors will have the opportunity to get their hands on a one-of-a-kind work of art at the auction.

Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity has set an ambitious £2.8 million fundraising target for the Pride of Yorkshire campaign, with funds raised earmarked to support cutting-edge research, vital new equipment and creative therapeutic projects for young patients.

We’re now calling to South Yorkshire to rally behind this campaign and help to support the future of children’s healthcare. We need Businesses to sponsor our magnificent lion and lioness sculptures, Schools & Community Groups to adopt our adorable cubs, and enthusiastic people to volunteer throughout the campaign.
