Thornbridge Brewery proud to support Pride of Yorkshire
Long-time supporter of the charity, Thornbridge Brewery, are sponsoring two lions on the Pride of Yorkshire trail. Their team invited us to their headquarters, to see what ideas they having brewing…
What’s brewing?
Thornbridge Brewery have been proud supporters of Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity in recent years, raising more than £100,000!
For CEO, Simon Webster, the reason is simple: “Being born and raised in Sheffield and being a family man, I know exactly how important Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity is to the kids and families of people from not just Sheffield, but from all over the world. This is why it is so important for us to do our bit so that the team at the charity can continue to do theirs“.
Not content with the amazing amount they’ve already helped raise, the team are now turning their attention to how they can support Pride of Yorkshire in fun and creative ways that engage their team and their customers.
To find out their plans, we decided to pop in at the Tap Rooms in Bakewell, where they brew lots of well-loved products and serve up delicious pizza.
Crafting a one-off Pride of Yorkshire beer
One of the most exciting fundraising ideas is already in motion. Thornbridge Brewery are developing a one-off Pride of Yorkshire beer, brewed especially for the 2026 trail.
In true Thornbridge fashion, they’re doing it with flair: the recipe and concept will be designed by a prize-winner from the charity’s Winter Ball – an exciting chance to help create an official Thornbridge brew that supports Sheffield Children’s.
The beer will be available during the trail, with proceeds helping to support the charity’s £2.8 million fundraising target.
A slice of support
Thornbridge Brewery is also donating £1 from every speciality pizza sold in their Tap Room.
During our visit, the chefs rustled up a bespoke lion-face pizza in honour of the trail – complete with a pepperoni mane and black olive eyes and nose. Delicious AND on brand!
It will be ‘fun and meaningful’
Thornbridge’s General Manager, James Buchanan, spoke about why supporting Sheffield Children’s means so much to the brewery: “For people in Sheffield, Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity is just the charity. It’s a no-brainer. We want to support it, and Pride of Yorkshire is such a fun and meaningful way to do that.”
Long-standing supporters with even bigger plans
Thornbridge Brewery have supported Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity for many years, and their commitment to Pride of Yorkshire marks the next chapter in that partnership. For the campaign, they’re committing to:
- Two sponsored lions,
- A trail-exclusive beer,
- A donation of pizza sales at their venues,
- Staff-led fundraising,

June-September 2026: Pride of Yorkshire takes to the streets, parks and public spaces of South Yorkshire. Can you find them all?
October 2026: October 2026: All 300 Pride of Yorkshire sculptures will say goodbye at a special Farewell Event.
October 2026: Businesses and individuals will have the chance to bid for their favourite sculptures at the auction.
