Schools, this one’s for you! We’re once again partnering with online educational publisher, Twinkl, to create a free Pride of Yorkshire education pack!

Having supported Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity with previous sculpture trails, including Bears of Sheffield in 2021, Twinkl is ready and roaring to be back with all-new, lion-themed resources for educators across the region and beyond!

Within the pack, you’ll find assembly packs, activities such as codebreakers, lion crafts and wordsearches, comprehension tasks and more. These resources will support in teaching students about Pride of Yorkshire, Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity and why it’s important to help and support others.

Romy Heritage-Willis, Schools and Community Coordinator for Pride of Yorkshire, said: “It’s amazing to be working with the Twinkl team and to be able to provide schools with a free education pack that they can use to engage their students.

“The schools have recently collected their cubs, and the students are so excited to get their paws on and start designing! These education resources will help them to understand that supporting the trail, and Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity generally, is more than just paint and glue… it’s about changing lives and helping to make the difference for patients at Sheffield Children’s!“

The Little Pride is on the way!

As part of Pride of Yorkshire, 150 schools and community groups will be letting their creativity run wild as they adopt, design, paint and keep forever their very own lion cub. This mighty ‘Little Pride’ will go on display from June – September alongside the main trail, with cubs appearing in groups at indoor locations across South Yorkshire.

All Pride of Yorkshire cubs have now found their forever homes and are being painted by schools and community groups across the region. If you’re looking for another way to get your school involved, head to the ‘Get Involved’ page and fill out the form with your idea.
