La Dame des Millefleurs

Location

Entrance to RSPB Dearne Valley – Old Moor

Inspired by the famous “Lady and the Unicorn” tapestries, La Dame des Millefleurs celebrates the flora and fauna of South Yorkshire.

At first glance she might look like a splash of bright colour to compliment a sunny day, but look closer and you’ll find a treasure hunt packed with animals, plants and more… all of whom are proud to call our region their home!

How many different animals can you find hidden amongst the fur of the lioness?

Jessica Salazar

Jess Salazar is a lifelong pattern maker, sketchbook filler and lover of Fauves who eventually found her way back into the creative arts as a professional designer after a short language teaching career.

Although Jess spends her work day designing branding, print and digital media for clients, when she is let loose on a canvas (usually an ipad), she creates colourful interpretations of landscapes and people. She loves the versatility of digital painting and drawing, but in an ideal world she’d be spending all day with oils & canvas on a hillside covered with heather, painting interesting skies.

A person with short brown hair and a dark green jumper paints a landscape on an ipad in a dark room with flowers in a stripy vase.
