Mlinzi

Location

Monk Bretton Priory

Mlinzi (pronounced muh-LEEN-zee) is a Swahili word that can mean protector, guardian and defender.

Artist Rob Godley wanted to recreate the breathtaking scenery of South Yorkshire and the Peak District with his design – and has faithfully created a peaceful, nature-filled scene.

Mlinzi serves as a reminder of our collective responsibilities to protect and preserve green spaces, and to make a safe and stable home for the wildlife that resides there.

Rob Godley – Millstones and Moor

Rob Godley – the artist behind Millstones & Moor – is a Sheffield lad who grew up on the outskirts of the Steel City. With close family in both South Yorkshire and Derbyshire, his love for these two incredible areas started at a young age as his childhood was spent exploring the great outdoors and being surrounded by nature.

Picking up art as a hobby during the 2020 pandemic, Rob’s artwork reflects his love of “God’s Own Country” and his adventures over the county borders in the Peak District, Derbyshire and beyond.
