By Ecclesall Primary School.
Pronounced Eh-LEE-moo – a Swahili name meaning “knowledge or science”.
Inspired by Dutch graphic artist, Maurits Cornelis Escher, who was known for woodcuts, lithographs and mezzotints inspired by mathematics, and is most famous for creating tessellating patterns.
All children were asked to design a lion, which has then been pasted onto our cub – creating something that is as unique as the pupils and staff at our school.
This design was created by Mrs Cara Chester, Art Lead at Ecclesall Primary School.
