Mary Tear – Colours Of

Mary Tear, originally from Beverley in East Yorkshire, moved to Sheffield in 2012 to study International Law, and quickly fell in love with the city she now calls home. In 2017, Mary started carrying a pack of 100 coloured postcards around Sheffield and matching them to the brilliant colours she spotted across the city, and sharing the photos on her Instagram (@ColoursOf_).

In 2020, she turned this colourful concept into her first print ‘Colours of Sheffield’. Mary sees these Yorkshire colours as a beautiful palette collectively curated by the many colours, experiences and people that make up a colourful Yorkshire for us all to be proud of.
