Location
The Gate reflects the heritage, pride and matchday rituals of Sheffield Wednesday.
Inspired by Hillsborough Stadium, the design shows the view from the bridge leading to the South Stand entrance on one side, with the Kop and North Stand gates on the other, capturing where generations of supporters begin their journey to the match.
A line of fans separates the club’s blue from white, representing the people who bring Hillsborough to life. The gold mane symbolises tradition and excellence, while ribbons around the legs carry chants shared and passed down through generations.
The artist
Zoe Burgar
Zoe is a Sheffield-based artist whose work celebrates community, identity, and local pride. Deeply inspired by her hometown and its sporting heritage, she combines bold colour, symbolism, and storytelling to create designs that connect people through shared passion.
Zoe is proud to celebrate Sheffield strong identity, and is passionate about celebrating it through art, humour, heart and heritage. Most recently, Zoe released her debut festive book, Neet b’fore Christmas in Sheffield.
