POUNCE!

Location

Entrance to Gulliver’s Valley Theme Park

POUNCE! is inspired by the work of Roy Lichtenstein, a leading figure in the Pop Art movement of the 1960s.

His work blurs the boundaries between fine art and mass-produced art, and takes simple, popular and striking imagery from classic comic strips.

Artist Jane Mota uses the same principles of simplicity, shape, colour, form and the speech bubbles and iconic explosive text.

The words you’ll find on POUNCE! echo the strength, courage and power of the lioness, and sees her jumping into the heart of the action!

Jane Mota

Jane is a concept and written word artist with a background in Fine Art as a Social Practice and English Literature. She enjoys writing entertaining stories about her travels, and creating designs that are unique and related to her background in art history.

Jane’s influences are varied; from the Renaissance Era, to the DaDa period and Modernism in Art and Literature. She loves to create ideas for Art Trails and creating a character – unique to each trail – to bring them to life.

A person with long, dark hair and glasses atop their hands stands smiling between two brightly coloured lions. Only their faces are visible in the shot.
