Tyke of the Town

Location

Outside Gate 12, Oakwell Stadium

Toby Tyke may be a bulldog, but he’s the coolest cat around!

As he strolls the grounds of Oakwell following a Barnsley FC win, football fans from Howden Edge to Goldthorpe can be heard unleashing a powerful roar to celebrate their team’s latest victory… as they make their way out of the stadium.

The lion carries the fans as they head into tarn for some post-match snap! Artist Rob Coyle brings his signature style to the design, creating a nostalgic feeling for fans both old and new.

Rooted in fan passion and community spirit, Rob – the football fan and graphic designer behind FourFour Tune – combines his love for football and illustration and celebrates what makes every club unique – from the die-hard local supporters, to unexpected fanbases around the world.

What started as a creative outlet for Rob turned into something much bigger. He began by turning club mascots and terrace songs into character art in for local South Yorkshire clubs, and aims to cover all 92 league clubs.
