Designed to honour one of South Yorkshire’s most beloved hometown heroes, Kate Rusby.
Born in Barnsley, Kate Rusby is an award-winning folk musician whose delicate vocals and evocative lyrics have been inspiring and moving fans for over 30 years. Kate has played on stages across the country, uniting folk fans in music, musings and mugs of tea!
Underneath the Stars is named after her 2003 album, and the design reflects both Kate’s love of starry nights and her Barnsley Nightingale moniker.
The artist
Matt Sewell
Artist, illustrator and author Matt Sewell is an avid ornithologist, regular contributor to the Caught By River website and author of the bestselling books Our Garden Birds, Owls, A Charm Of Goldfinch and the recently released Atlas Of Amazing Birds. Plus his range of children books including Dinosaurs and Forgotten Beasts.
He has illustrated for The Guardian, The National Trust, Barbour, The V&A, Levis and painted walls for Greenpeace, BBC’s Springwatch and Countryfile, Helly Hansen, Puma and the RSPB, his artwork has been exhibited in London, New York, Tokyo and Paris.
