Volunteer for Pride of Yorkshire
Throughout the summer, Pride of Yorkshire has brightened the streets, parks and public spaces of South Yorkshire! 300 life-sized lion sculptures have seen our region roaring – but we’re not quite finished yet!
As Pride of Yorkshire heads into its final couple of months, we’re on the lookout for volunteers to support us with moving the sculptures, setting up and taking down the Farewell Event, and supporting with our auctions!
Volunteering for Pride of Yorkshire is a chance to be part of something truly special. Read the role descriptions below, and click ‘Apply’ to contact us!
De-Install and Logistics*
Get hands-on as we take Pride of Yorkshire off the streets, and move them to our painting HQ for repairs and repainting.
When: Weeks commencing Tuesday 1, Monday 7 and Monday 14 September – various times day and night.
Where: Across South Yorkshire
Good for: People who are able to spend long periods standing, walking and are able to support in physically moving sculptures.
In this role, you’ll be supporting our logistics providers in ensuring sculptures are moved safely.

Farewell Set Up/Pack Down*
Help us to set up and pack down our biggest ever event!
When: Weeks commencing 28 September and 5 October. Especially 1 and 5 October – various times during the day.
Where: Meadowhall
Good for: Teamwork motivated people, or groups of people. Must be able to stand for long periods.
In this role, you’ll be working in teams to help us set up and pack down this event safely and efficiently.

Event Support*
Support us during our highly-anticipated Farewell Event.
When: 2/3/4 October – all day.
Where: Meadowhall
Good for: People of all ages who want to meet eager trail goers, art lovers and families coming to say a fond farewell to Pride of Yorkshire. Ability to stand for long periods is beneficial, but not essential.
In this role, you might be indoors or outdoors, and could be doing anything from ticketing, to answering questions!

Auction Support*
Be in the room when the Pride of Yorkshire lions find their forever homes.
When: Sunday 11 and Sunday 18 October – all day.
Where: Doncaster Hilton Garden Inn and Sheffield Crucible Theatre.
Good for: People who want to work a high-stakes, exciting event. Ability to stand for long periods and physically move sculptures is beneficial, but not essential.
Help us welcome guests, set the event up, move sculptures to stage, take bids and more.
